In Phase 6, the beanstalks are LLMs, open-source models, and agentic AI that give small teams access to capabilities that were previously walled off.

Every Silicon Valley disruption story follows this exact arc. The question the fairy tale doesn't ask is: what happens to the village below when the giant falls?

Phase 6

Phase 6 is the candy house era. Social platforms, recommendation engines, and generative AI tools all follow the same pattern: offer something irresistible, create dependency, then extract. The "fattening" is data collection. The "oven" is the monetization event.

The breadcrumb trail is a legacy orientation system that dissolves under pressure. Hansel's first attempt (pebbles) worked because the medium was durable. His second attempt (bread) failed because the medium was consumable. The lesson: your escape plan can't be built from the same material as your trap.

Phase 7 asks whether we can build systems where the house nourishes without trapping. Where value flows back to the inhabitants, not just the builder.
