Overview

First Principles First ("FP1," "we," "us") is a research and design lab operated at fp1.ai. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how we use it.

Information We Collect

We collect information you voluntarily provide through our contact form: your name, email address, LinkedIn URL (optional), and message content. We also collect standard web analytics data through our hosting provider (Netlify), which may include your IP address, browser type, referring URL, pages visited, and time spent on the Site. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising pixels.

How We Use Your Information

Contact form submissions are used solely to respond to your inquiry, provide requested research briefings, and share information about FP1 research, events, or services that may be relevant to your stated interests. Web analytics data is used in aggregate to understand how visitors interact with the Site and to improve its content and functionality.

Newsletter and Substack

If you subscribe to State of the Transition through our Substack, your email address and subscription preferences are managed by Substack, Inc. under their own privacy policy. We encourage you to review Substack's privacy practices at substack.com/privacy. You may unsubscribe at any time through any newsletter email.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We may share information with service providers who assist in operating the Site (such as Netlify for hosting and form processing), but only to the extent necessary for them to provide those services. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of FP1 or others.

Data Retention

Contact form submissions are retained for as long as necessary to fulfill the purpose for which they were collected or as required by applicable law. You may request deletion of your personal information at any time by contacting us through the Site.

AI-Augmented Research

FP1 uses artificial intelligence tools in the production of research content, including Novacene Correspondent dispatches. Personal information submitted through the contact form is not used to train AI models. AI tools are used under human editorial oversight for research synthesis and content production only.

Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your personal information, including HTTPS encryption for all Site communications and secure form processing through Netlify. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to data portability. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us through the form at fp1.ai. We will respond within 30 days.

International Users

The Site is operated from the United States. If you access the Site from outside the United States, please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States. By using the Site, you consent to this transfer.

Children's Privacy

The Site is not directed at individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 16, we will take steps to delete that information.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
